Psalm 21: Honouring a godly leader
(Here’s what I’d love people to say at my funeral …) Loving Lord, thank you for this woman In your strength she found her energy in your life she rejoiced every day you gave her the desires of her heart you honoured her prayers for others you showered blessings on her you anointed her with your call you blessed her with full years your glory shone through her heart the joy of your presence was obvious to all her trust in you opened faith in others she stood strong on your love. Make no mistake, she fought battles worked hard, got angry she knew what to tackle and when she fought problems not people She had no patience with pretence and called her people out of mediocrity She never set out to hurt anyone but would speak truth even if it stung and stood up for little people even if big people were offended. She called no one her enemy but confronted evil head on and faced the battles of the heart in the dark. Be exalted, O Lord, in your strength! We will sing and praise your power, for Glory is at work in us. |
Psalm 21: Thank you for Jesus
Thank you God for giving us your Son, your promised Messiah and King. His strength is you, his joy is you. You raised him to life, and he shares it with us, life never ending, life everlasting! You gave him your blessing, and he shares it with us, the joy of your presence, the trust in your goodness, your love, your great love, Jesus opened for us! |

This gravestone is at the Maori church at Turakina Beach, Wanganui.
I just loved the colours and patterns and tender care of the grave
... then was gobsmacked with a friend of mine recognised it as her son's Uncle Basil's grave. It's a small world.
