Psalm 120: Speaking peace at home
In my distress I cry to the Lord Save me from lying lips and attacking tongues. Woe is me for my home has become a battleground and trust has dissolved down the drain. I doubt the words of those I love and it rips my heart. Words have become arrows piercing the heart with fire. I want to speak peace but everything comes out wrong. In my distress I cry to the Lord. Teach us again, step by step, to speak truth with love, to listen so that each feels heard, to honour and accept each other. May our home become your home, O Lord, forge us together again as one. |
Psalm 120: Watch your mouth!
Like a bullet from a gun is a cruel word. Like arrows shot sharp are lies. People say the meanest things. People attack with their tongue. I want my words to speak peace. I want my mouth to be always true. |
